Kumà Boya (/ˈrəjə/ /ˈboja/ [formal] [card; ticket; voucher; sheet]) is a temperate Town located in Mædume Dâbû Dutchy, Higa Lebû Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Kumà Boya is derived from the Wareneese language, as Kumà Boya was founded by Nrel Trînkdsm, who was culturaly Wareneese.

Climate

Kumà Boya has a yearly average temperature of 22°C (71°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 18°C (64°F). Kumà Boya receives an average of 216 cm/y (85 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Kumà Boya covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 734 m (2408 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Kumà Boya was founded durring the early 14th century in spring of the year 1305, by Nrel Trînkdsm. The establishment of Kumà Boya suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Kumà Boya which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Kumà Boya was built using the conventions of Wareneese durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kumà Boya is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Kumà Boya is buildings are arranged arround a network of broad paverstone streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks, spikes, and fences to provide some protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. Unfortuantly, these minimaly adiquite are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

Something in your gut tells you that you may be unwelcome in Kumà Boya. The town seems like it’s not showing you the side of itself it would show to others. People mostly ignore your questions. Many folks ask you to leave their establishments, even before you’ve walked inside them. You should probably listen to them, as every time you’re asked to leave the person asking you to leave has referenced the town’s patron divine in some way. The little voice in the back of your mind that tells you when you’re in danger feels like it’s just glaring at you and muttering about how stupid you are for even remaining in town.

Civic Infrastructure

Kumà Boya has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Kumà Boya. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Kumà Boya's parks.

Kumà Boya has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Kumà Boya.

Kumà Boya has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Kumà Boya has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Kumà Boya has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Kumà Boya's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Kumà Boya possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Kumà Boya's grid is powered by a god's will and kindness.

Kumà Boya's old civil lighting system was converted to Galvanic Lamps recently, and expanded to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Kumà Boya has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Kumà Boya's natural decorations nor waterways.

Kumà Boya has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Kumà Boya has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Two or more groups of citizens within Kumà Boya hate each other. Their neighbors or the local law have kept things from too-overt violence, but members of the groups will constantly interfere with their rivals and cause whatever misery they can get away with. This hate may spring from recent events, or it may be an inherited spite from old wrongs.

Kumà Boya's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used makes use of a large oblong hall or building with double colonnades and a semicircular apse and symmetrical central-plan, resulting in buildings with a square central mass and four arms of equal length. Decorative features included domed rooves, arches, soaring spaces, and sumptuous decoration: marble columns and inlay, mosaics on the vaults, inlaid-stone pavements, and sometimes gold coffered ceilings.

Due to the actions of local Kami, winter is recurring in Kumà Boya.

The Gremlin near Kumà Boya are known to be quite timid.

Kumà Boya's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves gestures to channel Necromancy energies of tier 2 via guttural bellowing.
